Don! Here's the virgin question for this new board of Rosina's. My DH has serious squint lines on his face and I'd like him to get a little Botox. He doesn't want to of course because he thinks it will hurt. Have you had Botox? Would you? Why wouldn't you (if you wouldn't?) He is in the public eye all the time and this is a youth-driven society whether we like it or not.

I know a bit about Botox because Rosina is always trying to get me to have it too. No way. First, I hate needles, second I don't care about wrinkles. I think that pretty much answers your questions. One other thing. If I did decide to have Botox, which I won't unless it's forced on me, then I wouldn't tell anyone. That's a guy thing. I'll never understand why, when someone compliments Rosina on, for example, her eyes, she'll come back with, "Yes, that's because I use such-and-such eyedrops with so-and-so's mascara and doodly-dink's eye cream." A simple, "Thank you" would make a lot more sense. Husbands need more than Botox. (Rosina made me post that silly face.)

When dealing with age concerns, you really must look at the nature of the beast. Men and women most definitely do not share the same views. While men tend to look more handsome and distinguished facial wise with the passing of time (think Clooney, Connery, Newman, Gere) woman who garner lines and wrinkles are not looked upon in the same light....that is just how this society of ours tends to work. You may think your husband needs botox, but in his eyes I am sure he takes the same stance that Don does. He just doesn't care. Now, I am not saying that men don't care at all about their looks...it's just that they don't care about the same things that women do. In my opinion, men care more about body image (that increasing mid section, loss of muscle, hairloss) than lines and wrinkles like us gals do

Justabout40. Welcome! That is so true. Hair loss and going grey are much more of a concern to men. I certainly think a few lines are OK on men too. Don also squints though and it has produced a few lines that look more than "natural" so I understand where salvador is coming from. He is too vain to wear glasses so the squinting needs to be addressed. Hear that babe? I think the "wrinkle-free society" thing has gone a little too far so that now many women actually fear wrinkles because there are alternatives.
